Team Name & Mascot

The name of the London junior football team, Beefeaters, was chosen following a 'Name the Team' contest.

The winner of the contest, Paul Wraith, 12, of Lucan received two tickets to the 1975 Grey Cup game in Calgary, airfare and accommodations as well as two seasons’ tickets to Beefeaters home games.

In 1975 the Beefeaters had a team mascot, Buster Beefeater, who led the Beefeaters in a Participaction walkathon called WAMM (Walk a Measured Mile). Joining Buster were “Captain Cola” and broadcaster Bill Brady.
